Activities
Volunteering
There are many opportunities to get involved in the life and worship of St Margaret’s.
We encourage anyone to try out an activity, however unfamiliar it may be. Where necessary training is given.
Volunteers are especially needed for:
Serving coffee and tea after the 10.30 Eucharist
Leading intercessions at the Eucharist
Reading the lesson at the 10.30 Eucharist
Thalia Carr is responsible for a rota for people who will occasionally read the readings, lead the prayers, and/or make coffee after the morning service. The more people who sign up, the fewer times you will come up on the rota. The rota will be organised via the email so if you find you can’t be there on ‘your Sunday’ you will just need to send an email out to the group and arrange a swap. No previous experience is needed but please tell Thalia if you would like some direction/advice on how to carry out any of the duties. Please send Thalia an email saying which duty/duties you would be prepared to do (the website editor can forward messages to her).
Your participation would also be welcome in any of the following activities:
Arranging items needed for services
Gardening in the church grounds
Praying in private for others
Serving as crucifer, main server, or thurifer
Welcoming and handing out books
These are a good way to get to know other members of the congregation and to make a personal contribution.
