Where are you from? I’m from Wolverhampton originally but grew up in Bath over an antique shop run by my parents.
How did you find St Margaret’s? I was searching for a church and had toured around a few in Oxford before attending a carol service at St Margarets and realising I’d found my spiritual home here.
What do you do here? I work in educational publishing managing a team of amazing people who produce materials for Primary-aged children learning maths and for GCSE and A-Level students to help with revision for exams. More specifically at St Margarets, I sing in the choir when I can – now virtually (actually a lot easier with a toddler!) but generally hang out with my daughter at the back of church.
What do you like about the church? The people – not surprising given my answer to the next question, and the liturgy and music. I love that the church is so welcoming of families and children and recently have been really impressed with the online worship.
What are you looking forward to over the next few months? Seeing people in person! I’m a bit of a social butterfly and so lockdown has been an interesting time for me. I’ve loved getting involved in all things virtual – singing in three virtual choirs, hosting a regular virtual Friday night disco, virtual book club and theatre session but humans are meant to be together and I do look forward to actually seeing people in person.
What three words would you use to describe your faith? Quiet, expressive and internal (and sometimes wobbly!)
Tell us something most people would never guess about you… This is tricky… I co-wrote a murder mystery with a best-selling crime writer to raise funds for a church in Bath as a teenager.
