Half Term Fun with St Margaret’s

In this time of lockdown, signs of spring can be seen everywhere. As part of your daily exercising, St Margaret’s Church is asking families to look out for a few more signs around our parish. The map can be viewed or downloaded below, and will be available until Sunday 21st February.

The accessible route is about 4km which should take about 1 hour to complete, but you can do a little one day and come back the next if that suits your family better. As you follow our plotted walk, you all need to keep your eyes open for posters like the one above with the tulips on it. Each poster will contain a letter. Once you have all eight letters, you will be able to spell a word and claim a sweet treat for every child that participates.

Each poster will be in the window or garden of someone from church. Please follow national guidelines and remain socially distanced on your walk. All posters will be visible from the pavement so there’s no need to enter anyone’s garden or ring on doorbells. If your child has additional needs, please email Eva directly (eva@stmargaretsoxford.org) for more details so you can plan your route.

Once you have gathered all your letters please email the word to Eva (eva@stmargaretsoxford.org) with a photo of your family on the walk. Every child who takes part will get a sweet treat, and there are 4 main prizes for the whole family. These are:

  • 1st Prize for fastest Treasure Hunt – awarded to the first family to email in a photo of themselves on the walk with the Treasure Hunt word
  • 2nd Prize for slowest Treasure Hunt – award to the last family to email in a photo of themselves on the walk with the Treasure Hunt word
  • Best photo – awarded to the family who email in the best photo of themselves on the walk
  • Funniest photo – awarded to the family who email in the funniest photo of themselves on the walk

Winners will be announced on Monday 22nd February and prizes will be delivered that week. Please include your consent to use the photographs you submit and your address so we can get the prizes to you.

This is an all age event for families. Everyone is welcome!
